ST LOUIS (News First) – St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado utilized his no-trade clause Wednesday as he blocked a trade that would have put him in a Houston Astros uniform. MLB.com says the two teams are still attempting to work out some kind of deal involving Arrenado, even though a trade does not seem likely. There is still a chance Arenado could change his mind if the two teams come to another agreement that would be more lucrative to the 33-year-old. No word on why Arenado put the brakes on this trade. He’s an 8-time all-star, has won 10 gold gloves but last season was probably considered his worst in the majors. He hit .272, had 16 home runs and 71 RBI’s.
