The National Weather Service in St. Louis has issued an Excessive Heat Warning in effect for Jefferson County, St. Charles and St. Louis Counties & St. Louis City from 1 pm Monday, July 29th through Thursday, August 1st at 7 pm. Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 112 expected. Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events.
People in the St. Louis Metropolitan Area can get information about cooling centers or energy assistance related to the excessive heat by calling the United Way of Greater St. Louis at 800-427-4626, or if calling from a land line phone dial 2-1-1.
