Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft today (Mon, Aug 19) issued certificates regarding four initiative petitions filed with his office. To receive a Certificate of Sufficiency, a minimum number of valid signatures must be obtained in six of the eight congressional districts in Missouri. Initiative petitions meeting sufficiency requirements will be placed on the November statewide ballot – these include three constitutional amendments on reproductive health care, sports wagering, and a constitutional amendment to approve the Osage River gambling boat license. There is also a statutory amendment vote on minimum wage and earned paid sick time. These four statewide issues will be decided during the November 5th election.
