BONNE TERRE, Mo (News First) – A St. Francois County Sheriff’s deputy shot and wounded a man in Bonne Terre on Wednesday (Aug 14th) after a pursuit through the county. Sgt. Bradley Germann from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says the pursuit began around 2:20 pm near Old Orchard Road when a deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the driver sped off.

The unnamed deputy pursued the vehicle when his car was rammed. The deputy fired shots and wounded the suspect.

The suspect was arrested and administered first aid. He was later transported to a local hospital.

Further details have not been released, including the identities of the suspect and deputy.

Germann says following the Highway Patrol’s investigation, the case will be turned over to prosecutors in St. Francois County for further review.
